A year later....

Well, I wish I could say that I have been so insanely busy that I haven't been able to post anything for about a year, but it that is only half right. Mostly it's because our life is too much the same everyday that I am sure that most of you would get tired of reading about it. We had a great winter, no huge winter storms, and we have only had mild flooding. The most news worthy info just happened about a week ago, so here is our update. We are now farmers, we have a few tractors, a couple of balers, and a rake. For this year we are just doing some custom hay jobs, but we hope to start doing more next year with the in-laws farm.

Summer

Hello everyone who reads my blog. I hope your spring had gone well and that you are now enjoying summer. It has been fun to get to Cody this year to see everyone there. We have also had some fun times hiking in the hills. There is lots of history and lots of old gold mines. I have also been doing some grilling and coming up with some new experiments, kind of fun and tasty. It has been a very very wet spring, Graham has had a lot of troubles working in such weather, but things are drying up so that they can get back to work. Work goes as usual for me, and we are gearing up for the rally. I can't believe the year is half over already, snow is just around the corner. Here are some pictures to get a glimpse into our life. :)

Another day.

It was very fun to have Bob and Heidi over for lunch. Sunday afternoon we went to Spearfish to the old fish hatchery. It has been there for a very long time, so it was quite interesting to look at. They have all sizes of fish that you can feed, and even go below to watch them through a window. They mostly had brown and rainbow trout, but there were some that were huge. I would guess that the bigger ones were anywhere from 15-20 pounds or bigger. I didn't see any no fishing signs, but I didn't have my pole. I also don't think I have the right strength of fishing line for the big ones. They divert water from Spearfish creek and then the water goes back into the creek so there is always fresh water. If anyone ever comes to visit, I will take you there.

I also got to spend some time with baby Jenna, Graham's distant relative. Her parents just live down the road, so when mom needs to go somewhere and can't take the baby, I get her. It is kind of fun because I usually get to watch her when she needs a bottle or already had one and is happy and smiling. I think she is about 3 moths old, but very cute and cuddly.

Here are some picture's of Bri's birthday. It wasn't that big of ordeal, she had a muffin for cake and she got a bone for a present. The muffin was gone in one bite and the bone was gone in less than an hour. She also chewed up her party hat, so I think she had a good time even though she wasn't to enthused about wearing the hat. :)

Happy Mother's day

It seems that all of our snow is finally gone and green grass in it's place. I already need to mow the lawn. Not much has happened in the last few months. We went to Graham's grandma's funeral, and we made it to Laramie for a weekend. Graham is still getting over bronchitis, and work has picked up for him.

My work is the same, just dealing out thousands of dollars. We do have 2 teller positions open if anyone needs a job and would like to move to the area. We are having Bob and Heidi over for mother's day. We are having Alice Springs chicken from the good cook book. We are also having a cake to celebrate Bri's 1st birthday. I know it is a little silly, but it provides a good reason to have cake. :)

Graham and I have 2 weddings this month in Cheyenne, so we are looking forward to those. Graham and are are both in one and are singing in the other one. This will have to do it for now, but I will have some pictures of the festivities very soon. Have a good mother's day.

spring storm

Well, the storm had a lot of snow and a lot of wind, but we had power so we had a cozy snow day. They closed the bank today, so I didn't have to worry about going to work, which I wouldn't have been able to do anyway. The sun came out and started to melt things this afternoon, so I am back to work tomorrow. Bri had a great time in the snow, she is funny to watch.

Graham and I got a little bored at home so we decided to see what the rest of the world looked like, so we went for a drive. The highway was plowed so there wasn't any problems there. We thought we would see how far we could get on the dirt road over to Bob and Heidi's. The following pictures will prove that just because you have 4 wheel drive doesn't mean you can't get stuck. :)








This is where having in-laws with big dozers come in handy. After sitting there for a long time, it was so good to see this.

Sping is almost here

Well, I wish there was a lot of events that I could fill you in on since the last time I wrote, but there isn't much. We have just been living in winter with a few days of warm spring. I had last week off of work, so I used it to clean my house and get some other stuff done. I feel very good now that I got my taxes done. I don't know why I hate doing them so much. A this point in my life I can still do my own taxes and it really isn't that hard. I didn't even have to pay anything, but is is just one of those things that I drag my feet about.

I guess we did find out that Graham has West Nile, and that has been why he hasn't been feeling the best for the last few months. He has been taking some homeopathic drops as there isn't really anything a medical doctor can do about it. They seem to be helping and he is back at work this week. I am not surprised that he has West Nile, this summer they reported that 90% of the mosquitoes in our area have it, good thing I have already had it too.

Bri seems to not be getting any bigger, but she is till a puppy. She has stopped making messes inside our house, so I am shampooing our carpets this week. She is pretty good, but still has some naughty puppy days. Here are some new pictures of

Graham and I got to watch Graham's cousins the other day. Three boys, lots of tractors and fun.





I also had time last week to put in a new floor.









We are now in the middle of a blizzard and expect over 2 feet of snow and 70 mph winds. We hope to have power for the whole thing, but it is very unlikely. Thanks for reading, and have a good week.

Winter

I would have to say that our part of the country must be in an ice age. We think that we are having a heat wave when it gets above 0 degrees, and we get excited whenever it is above -3 degrees. The temperatures are in the negatives, and then the wind makes it even colder. We are very lucky not to have any pipes freeze yet.

Other than that, I have been busy working on quilts. (Mom's blog has some pictures)We have also been trying to keep up with the dog. I would talk about something else, but since we have no human children, Bri is all we have to converse about. She is kind of naughty some times, but can be very sweet when she is calm and playful. She has a sock fetish and will pick up any she can find and carry them around the house. She also likes to take them when her when she is napping, kind of cute.
